The Southbend KELT kettle is specified for 3-phase operation at 240 VAC, 50/60 Hz. KELT-40 kettles have 18 kW available as standard. The kettle is self-generating; its jacket enclosure contains distilled water and is factory sealed. The Southbend KELT kettle's steam jacket surrounds the lower two-thirds of the kettle. The controls are integrally mounted and include a power switch, thermostat, pilot light, low water light, vacuum/pressure gauge, safety relief valve, and low water shut off. The Southbend KELT kettle's interior liner is stainless steel type 316. The kettle is constructed with all-welded #4-finish stainless steel, type 304. The tilt mechanism has self-locking positive-stop action.
