The KELT-SB 18 kW, 3-phase electrical configuration draws 47.2 amps per line at 220 V. The Southbend KELT kettle has a maximum pressure of 50 psi. The controls are integrally mounted and include a power switch, thermostat, pilot light, low water light, vacuum/pressure gauge, safety relief valve, and low water shut off. The kettle is constructed with all-welded #4-finish stainless steel, type 304. The Southbend KELT kettle's interior liner is stainless steel type 316. The kettle is self-generating; its jacket enclosure contains distilled water and is factory sealed. The tilt mechanism has self-locking positive-stop action.
