The Blodgett 961 and 961P are gas deck ovens. The 961/961P Double deck-oven configuration has two oven sections. Each 961/961P Double configuration has capacity for 4 pans measuring 18 × 26 in. Each Blodgett 961/961P oven section can operate alone or in combination with other sections. The 961 oven has a maximum gas input of 37,000 BTU/hr per oven section. For natural gas, the required inlet pressure is 7.0 in W.C. minimum to 10.5 in W.C. maximum. The Blodgett 961/961P deck oven uses a liquid pressure thermostat for burner control. For the 961, the standard feature is a Fahrenheit dial from 200° to 500°;. The Blodgett 961 baking deck is made of steel.
